Hello all!  I hope that everyone is having a wonderful summer break!!

Here are some photos that we took during the second term.  Enjoy!

See you in September,
Mme Reed

Scientists in the School - "May the Force be with You" - Forces Acting on Structures.  The students had to build a structure that would hold up textbooks.  The only supplies they could use:  newspaper and masking tape!

The Engineering Challenge - Students had to design, build, test, modify and enter into competition their catapults.  They had great fun launching their ping pong balls across the class - all in the name of Science, of course!

Our Engineer / Mentor guided us along and gave our budding engineers some great advice!  Thank you Mrs. O!

Competition Day!  Our Design teams presented their projects before some engineers - they had to convince our engineers that their design was the best, and talk about what they learned in the process of designing, building and testing their launchers.

Our awesome teams right before the competition!!

The Engineering Challenge Finals against Richmond Public School!

In May, we all enjoyed a field trip to the NAC and the Royal Canadian Mint.  Thanks to Emma T's Dad, we have some photos of those who tried to lift the solid gold bar worth over $750, 000!!

Music Monday - During Education Week we sang "The Hockey Song" by Stompin' Tom with staff and students.  The song choice went with our Education Week theme of "Sports" and also served to remember the passing of Canadian singing legend Stompin' Tom Connors.

Construction Zone!!  The last week and a half of school was spent building structures from ancient civilisations and castles from medieval times
.

Another school year has passed by!  and so quickly too!
It was a great year - many thanks to my students and many thanks to the parents
for all your help and support.
Enjoy the summer holiday!  I look forward to seeing everyone in the fall,
all rested up and ready for a new school year!
