Welcome to our class blog.  It is my hope to use this blog to communicate with parents, post reminders, and post handouts for projects for the times when the "homework monster" eats that very important paper!  :) 

I would also like to thank parents for using the agendas for communicating with me.  I do look at the agendas every morning before announcements, so this is the best way to leave me a message.  The class blog is set up not to accept comments, due to the private nature of parent / teacher communications. 

As part of our homework program, the students will be asked to make an oral presentation once every month or month and a half.  Beginning next week, we will start our classroom presentations.  I will be sending home a calendar with a presentation date for each student, an evaluation rubric, and the criteria for the presentation.  The presentation will be explained to all students so they will be aware of what to do, and of what the expectations are.

Each student will be asked to bring in 5 items in a bag of their choosing.  The five items in the bag should be representative of who they are,  and of what their interests are.  Some ideas are, but the students are not limited to, a family photo, a soccer medal, pictures of a favourite food, team or sport.  Please do not send in valuable items such as coin collections or items that are breakable, please!  The students will be asked to make a presentation of approximately 3 minutes, but not longer than 5 minutes.
